Bathurst-Finch Neighbourhood, officially known as Westminster-Branson, is located in the northern part of Toronto and is bounded by Bathurst Street in the East, Steeles Avenue in the North, and the Don River in the West and South. The neighbourhood is about 4.2 km, top to bottom, with a total land area of 3.6 square km. The total population of Bathurst-Finch neighbourhood is 24,403. The neighbourhood contains a higher than average newcomer population, and the newcomers are well educated (many of them have post-secondary education), but resident unemployment is high. There is a large population of Russian-speaking people from various parts of the former USSR living in the neighbourhood. A number of these people are also Jewish. The largest visible minority population consists of people from the Philippines, although there are other smaller visible minority groups. Languages most spoken in this neighbourhood are Russian, English, Hebrew, Tagalog, Farsi and Korean.
